Baby Steps

This is probably my favorite quotation by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and I know I’ve used it before in previous posts. But, in light of our recent observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I thought this quotation would be a necessary antidote to the hatred and darkness in our midst.

Let it begin with me, right now. Let me drive out my own darkness with light; let me drive out my own hate with love. Let me start small—loving myself, loving my family, loving those around me and let those ripples spread and spread and spread. This is my prayer. And it starts with me. Baby steps.
