There is certainly another world, but it is in this one. To find it, one must recognize it and proclaim it. Man must seek his future in the present, but not on earth, rather in the sky, within.
-Paul Eluard
We all have another world, an inner world rich with thoughts and feelings, dreams, stories and artistic passions. But, many of us don’t find it because we don’t seek it.
This is the world of the unconscious—the unacknowledged enigmatic and shadowy parts of ourselves. We are, in fact, not merely products of our environment, our family of origin, our nation, or our religion. We are so much more! We are deeply unique spiritual beings who have come here to express our own irreplaceable mysteries. As Carl Jung wrote, The sole purpose of man’s existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being.
What is your light? What is your world? What makes you feel alive? Connected? Purposeful?
Too often, we can feel overwhelmed by an ambiguous darkness that seems to swallow us up with its pathos and agenda and value system. But, if we are honest with ourselves, what brings light into our lives, is not following the crowd, but rather looking within and recognizing our own inner light. And once we recognize this inner world, we can stand tall amidst the myriad voices and colors and paths and proclaim our unique connection to the numinous.
Love the way you write and think❣️
