This is a short entry today…just got back to the States, and I think my brain is in a different time zone!
In a recent interview with Glennon Doyle, Brene Brown says, we cannot feel another person’s feelings.
Yet all too often, we convince ourselves that we know what another is feeling and we know what they need.
But underneath this certainty, is a fear of feeling. Feelings can be terribly frightening. But feelings must be felt. All feelings.
And when we give ourselves space to feel our feelings, we give others’ space to feel their feelings. We no longer feel the need to control or solve. Instead, we help hold space. The most important question to ask then, of ourselves and of our loved ones is as Brown says, what does love look like today?
